Here's a List I'm working on as I read thru the Bible again: every reference I come across referring to death. I hope to finish it is a month or two!
But FIRST, before Death for man even BEGAN, note, as in the graphic above, that ANIMALS were (and still ARE) "SOULS"! Adam, the first man WAS a soul. The fact that translators HIDE that by translating them as anything BUT shows the insidiousness of Churchianity's deception with their 'IMMORTAL soul' dogma, shared by nearly ALL of the world's False Religions.
Death is first mentioned by God Himself in Genesis 2- where he tells them "but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die." ( Gen 2:17) No Immortality- but DEATH if they rebelled! An UTTERLY meaningless warning if they were Immortal, and would merely float out of their physical bodies!
Gen 3:2- The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,
3- but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or
you will die.' "
4- You will certainly NOT die, the serpent said to the woman.
CHURCHianity says the same thing- in different terminology; we all have an 'immortal soul'...thus we certainly will NOT die (just our body, you see)...
As to that test, many ridicule it, or say its just symbolic- but THINK about it. Just a simple test to see if they were trustworthy, to see if they were loyal to Him. Think of a man wishing to retire from a used car lot. He hires a man he thinks he can trust with the business he took so long to build, with an outstanding reputation. To test this new man, the owner tells him, that at the end of each day, he can drive any of the cars home that he wishes- just not the '57 Chevy in the corner.
Imagine how he feels, when visiting his Car Lot early one morning, he sees the salesman driving in the lot in that '57 Chevy....
Gen 3:19- By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken;
for dust you are and to dust you will return.
It is thus even spelled out for us, here!
It's often even QUOTED at the funeral- then the clergyman tells us that the 'dead' one is now looking down from Heaven...
e saw how God formed the man FROM the ground- and now He TELLS Adam that he will be RETURNING there here.
No so-called 'Immortal Soul' of CHURCHianity.
What about their children?
Were Adam and Eve to die (cease living, merging with the soil)- yet their kids destined to FOREVER FRY in a new place God would make called 'Hellfire' (if they didn't go to heaven)????
When did this supposed 'Hellfire" begin????
Putting the Foul Deception to the test, it crumbles quickly!
After Cain commits the First Murder, then we're told:
Gen 4:10- Jehovah said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground.
11- Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
12- When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."
These are ancient words, that clearly show how Blood is very special to God, how close He is to Creation, and we will see as we go thru the Bible how blood- for some reason- is Sacred to Him....and tied directly to us as a soul/our life...
After the Flood, things changed~
Gen 9:3- Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.
4- But you shall not eat flesh with its life [soul] , that is, its blood.
5- Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man.
From the hand of every man’s brother I will require the life [soul] of man.
Again, the connection between the soul, life and blood...
In addition to the 'Soulful Shuffle' , played by translators, is the 'Hellfire Twist' they use to confuse; one word in ancient
Hebrew is used to designate the place under the ground (the grave / underworld) where both man and animal end up- SHEOL, but is
translated, thanks to Church Dogma, as "Hell, Grave, Pit" and others- depending on what impression they want to CREATE, rather
than the truth of what is being said!
Jacob thinks his son Joseph has been killed by a wild animal, and says-
Gen 37:35- And all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted, and he said,
“For I shall go down into the grave [Heb SHEOL- the same word they translate as 'HELL', elsewhere] to my son in
mourning.” Thus his father wept for him.
I wonder why they didn't translate THIS as "Hell"- as they USUALLY do? Obviously since it is too OBVIOUS as
to what was REALLY meant!
Again, Jacob later makes the same statement-
Gen 42:38- But he said, My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any calamity should befall him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my gray hair with sorrow to the grave.- KJV ("grave" - "hell" many translations)
Gen 42: 38- And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left: if harm befall him by the way in which ye go, then will ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol. - ASV ("sheol" - "hell" many translations)
Ex 23:9- You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the feelings of a stranger [nephesh/soul], for you also were
strangers in the land of Egypt.
This is but one of many uses of "soul" that is translated in whatever way the translators wish- VERY rarely as "soul", thus the easy confusion of those trusting their translation, knowing no better.
I will not list all such references; there's too many.
Scriptures that give us insight into death, spirit, and resurrection are what I will focus on, rather than a long list of "Nephesh" being translated in many ways by different translators; get Young's or Strong's Bible Concordances to see them all!
Lev 17:10- And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
11- For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement
for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
12-Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
13- And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
14- For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off. - ASV
Can a soul (Church Version) eat food?
Also, if transfusions were available in those ancient times, think they would TAKE them- even to save their life- in view of the above?
Question!
When God states what is DETESTABLE to Him (and is often ignored by the churches), and tells the Israelites to execute the ones doing it, as this example...
Lev 20:13- If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
...what happens to the 'immortal soul' you have been taught to believe?
At this point, God nor prophet haven't even HINTED of a place called "Hellfire"...was it going to be a Big Surprise for these homosexuals-
or was He gonna take them to Heaven?
...OR, did they simply DIE?
Cease to exist?
Stop living?
Although many references to souls are mentioned, (translated in many ways) one unusual reference to a soul- is where it is translated as "livelihood" (or
"life" in some)-
Deut 24:6- Do not take a pair of millstonesnot even the upper oneas security for a debt, because that would be taking a man's livelihood [soul] as security.- NIV
Therefore, it is a Simple Fact that a "soul" is NOT an immortal spirit-thing that leaves our body when we 'die'....
Truth makes SENSE, and helps understand all else; Fallacy makes little (if ANY) sense- and PREVENTS
understanding anything else.
Example- meditate on this thru Church Haze; if the soul is an 'immortal spirit' inside us, what did
THIS mean to the Jews?-
Deut 30:19- This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you
life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live!
What happened to those who DIDN'T?
When they died, did this 'immortal soul' float off to the place the Trinitarian Gods set up called
"Hellfire"???
When they were never warned ... of the WORST FATE that could befall a man???
Are the millions of Jews who were unfaithful to God STILL SCREAMING, and BEING GNAWED
ON BY WORMS AND MAGGOTS- for over 3,000 years- with eternity to go???
Or did they simply die, returning to the ground (grave, hell, hades) as God SAID they would?
1 Sam 2:25- If a man sin against a man, then hath God judged him; but if against Jehovah a man sin, who doth pray for him?' and
they hearken not to the voice of their father, though Jehovah hath delighted to put them to death.
When they 'died' (Change forms, in churchese) did their 'immortal souls' get sent to 'Hellfire' where to this day they
are screaming in agony from being burned alive- and gnawed on by worms with eternal life? Did God delight in THAT, too?
Or did they just DIE- stop living?
********************
Saul goes to a Spirit Medium to "bring up" Samuel the Prophet
This is often used to 'prove' the dead are living; all it does is show the mental distress Saul was suffering.
If Jehovah would no longer communicate with him- did he think a dead prophet would? Where did the concept
that the dead were living- and could be communicated with COME from; nowhere in scripture or any
of God's prophets...ONLY in spiritism and the false religions of the nations around Israel.
WAS Samuel resurrected, or did his 'immortal soul' float down to talk to Saul? Let's see!
1 Sam 28: 13- The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?"
The woman said, "I see a ghostly figure coming up out of the earth."
[Religions of that time thought the dead were LIVING underground.]
14 "What does he look like?" he asked.
[Saul doesn't see this 'Samuel'- only the occultist claims to; she likely had seen him when alive.]
"An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said.
[Not a detailed description.]
Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.
15- Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?"
[What was the 'immortal soul' of 'Samuel' doing underground- having a party?]
"I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has departed from me.
He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."
16- Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has departed from you and become your enemy?
[A contradiction! If this WERE Samuel, and he KNEW God refused to communicate with Saul- and was now
his ENEMY, would HE have communicated with him? Rhetorical. Of COURSE he wouldn't.]
17- The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and
given it to one of your neighborsto David.
18- Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has
done this to you today.
[Samuel had promulgated that before he died; common knowledge in Israel.]
19- The LORD will deliver both Israel and you into the hands of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons
will be with me.
[WHAT????? Wouldn't their 'immortal souls' be going to 'Hellfire'????]
The LORD will also give the army of Israel into the hands of the Philistines."
As stated by the demon, Samuel had already made known these things thru God's spirit, so both demon,
the medium, AND Saul already KNEW this.
As for "tomorrow", 3 days later (29:11-30:1) they were STILL alive. That prophecy did NOT happen; proof it
was from demon, rather than God.
The following books refer to many deaths- but no reference to anything indicating what death, soul or spirit is-
until Job.
Job 1:12-And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power;
only upon HIMSELF put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
2:6-And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. ("Life" is translated from
Nephesh/ soul), thus one reference he uses "himself" and the other "soul", referring to his life- NOT an
imaginary spirit-thing that continues to live, and floats off at 'death'- or God's proclamation is
meaningless...He was referring to the SAME THING in both instances; the living creature as a...soul!
34:14- If it were His intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, 15- all mankind would perish together and man would return to the dust.
WHOA, horsey! What about Heaven, 'Hellfire', 'Purgatory', 'Limbo',etc?
